ACTIFY AND 3DCONNEXION ANNOUNCE MARKETING AGREEMENT
Marketing Partnership to Make CAD
Visualization Easier for End-Users
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif and LOS GATOS, Calif— September 30,
2003—Actify Inc., the leader in client-server design visualization and collaboration
solutions for the automotive, discrete manufacturing, high tech
and industrial automation industries, and 3Dconnexion,
the leading provider of 3D motion controllers, announced today a marketing agreement that will simplify CAD visualization
for thousands of end-users.
Under the terms of the agreement, Actify supports
3Dconnexion's 3D motion controller products SpaceBall®, SpaceMouse®,
SpaceTraveler™, SpaceNavigator™ and CadMan®. SpinFire
Professional 2003 users can now enjoy Two Handed Power™ with
up to 30% productivity gains and 50% fewer mouse movements.
With this efficient two-handed work style, Actify users can view,
measure, mark-up and share files in a more natural and intuitive
way, allowing them to collaborate faster and easier than ever.
3Dconnexion will distribute a trial version
of SpinFire Professional 2003 with each 3D motion controller
it sells, giving customers the option to try an optimized CAD
visualization solution powered by a 3D motion controller for
the first time. Both engineers and non-engineers alike will use
3Dconnexion's motion controllers with SpinFire Professional.
The
trial version is fully upgradeable to a full licensed version.
"This
marketing agreement shows that Actify is serious about expanding
its position as the easiest to use CAD visualization solution
on the market," said Randy Ochs, president and CEO of Actify. "It
signifies Actify's increased market presence and the fact that
we are at the forefront of
CAD visualization technology by enabling the use of popular standards
like 3Dconnexion's motion controllers."
"We
are pleased to bring the power of working with both hands to
Actify customers, said Wolfgang Hausen, CEO of 3Dconnexion. "This
marketing agreement is a natural step in extending the benefits
of motion controllers to professionals who may not be CAD designers,
but are closely involved, such as those in the production and
purchasing departments who frequently need to view and interact
with models."
