ACTIFY ANNOUNCES WINNERS IN WORLDWIDE
.3D MODEL CHALLENGE

Company Selects Three Winning Designs That Demonstrate the Power of .3D

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif — February 3, 2004— Actify Inc., the leader in client-server design visualization and collaboration solutions for the high technology, industrial automation and discrete manufacturing industries, today announced the three winners of the international Actify .3D Model Challenge. The competition took in hundreds of entries from around the world over a two month period to judge the best use of .3D files in real world applications. .3D files are created by importing any major CAD file into Actify's SpinFire Professional 2003, a view, measure and mark-up application for knowledge workers unfamiliar with CAD. Judges included Sara Ferris of Cadalyst Magazine, Jan Larsson of 3Dconnexion and Randy Ochs, President and CEO of Actify. First prize of $1000 went to Michael McCullough of Erie, Pennsylvania, second prize of $500 to Hans-Peter Hemmer of Mainz, Germany and third prize of $250 went to Achim Baulig of Cologne, Germany.

" Our goal for this competition was to see and hear how CAD users are using .3D files produced by SpinFire Professional, and to help everyone learn how to maximize the Power of .3D," said Randy Ochs, President and CEO of Actify Inc. "We were delighted to receive submissions from all over the world from CAD users who are using .3D to perform design reviews across many continents, share designs with their tooling departments, collaborate with their supply chain, post notifications of quality issues back to engineering and many others."

" I was very impressed with the quality of the models that were entered into the competition," said Sara Ferris, Editor in Chief at Cadalyst Magazine. "In the end, we chose Mr. McCullough's because of his clear understanding of SpinFire's capabilities and his creative use of available tools to solve a process problem."

" The three competition winners really demonstrated the best use of .3D," said Jan Larsson, Director of Partner Marketing at 3Dconnexion. "Out of the 15 finalists, the winning models stood out as having the most complex and sophisticated design visual."

Criteria for judging the models included the designers' use of SpinFire's features, creativity, originality and real-world applicability. SpinFire Professional and the .3D file format provide a secure way to share design information throughout an organization and supply chain.

The .3D Challenge was launched by Actify in October of 2003. All submissions were received by the deadline date, November 30, 2003. Judging occurred at Actify's San Francisco office on January 15, 2004 where 15 finalists were judged and the three winners were chosen.
