Project Manager/Scrum Master

Position Description

Actify is seeking a Scrum Master to facilitate the software development process using the Agile Project Management Methodology.

Primary Duties

  • Ensure a clear understanding of Sprint goals, Product backlog features, conditions of satisfaction and clear definition of what “done” means.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of Team members’ roles in the estimating process.
  • Work with the Product Owners to maintain the Product backlog.
  • Facilitate the Daily-standup, Iteration/Sprint planning and Iteration/Sprint demo and retrospective meetings.
  • Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution and consensus among the team.
  • Track metrics of team progress, productivity and success and development costs.
  • Collaborate with key technical resources to update online documentation for internal and external use.
  • Collaborate with key business and technical resources to develop release plans for large project and/or product development.
  • Provide objective reports of team status, issues and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Evolve team practices by collaborating with product manager and team to decide how best to maximize productivity.
  • Proactively participate in developing and maintaining coding standards, tools and best practices.
  • Promote and evangelize the adoption and development of agile development techniques.

Skills

  • Good technical background in OO development, preferably C# and .Net, but Java would also be considered.
  • Excellent interpersonal, managerial, organizational, presentation and verbal & written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to resolve conflicts constructively; a great attitude, willingness to work within and between groups smoothly.
  • High degree of teamwork, individual responsibility, and initiative.
  • Energetic, organized, able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Able to work independently on projects.
  • Very strong attention to detail.

Education & Experience

  • 2-4 years experience managing software development projects using Agile (Scrum, XP, etc).
  • Knowledge and experience working with SQL Server is plus.
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence is a plus.

Actify Inc. is seeking a talented software engineer to develop next generation 2D and 3D graphics components for the Actify suite of products. The individual will work primarily in C++ and .NET C# and will be a key contributor on our team in San Francisco.

Skills
